Westgate Ports, located at Victoria Dock, is dedicated to redefining landside logistics through the Port of Melbourne. The logistics task in Melbourne continues to grow, and answers are needed.

We aim to create a more efficient way of moving freight through the Port of Melbourne as volumes grow, and to pass those benefits on to our clients and to the wider community.

Our operating business at Victoria Dock is called Westgate Ports Services. We currently offer the full range of container transport and handling solutions, all within 500 metres of the international container terminals.

Our location, our experienced staff and our state-of-the-art information technology mean clients can rely on their containerized freight arriving on time, and being transferred to and from the international terminals efficiently and effectively.

To give maximum reliability, all of our containers are staged at Victoria Dock and then handled through the international terminals at night as bulk movements ('bulk runs'). This allows us to take advantage of the off-peak period to provide the greatest possible efficiency to our clients, as well as maximum reliability on delivery times as containers are delivered from our depot directly to clients premises.

We also provide the full range of Customs and AQIS services. Whether it's fumigation of an export container, or an AQIS inspection of import cargo, Westgate Ports Services aims to provide a level of service and visibility previously unknown in the Container Logistics market.

Information Technology

Central to our service is our state-of-the-art information technology. Our system, Maximas, allows our clients to:

pinpoint the location and status of every container in real time
identify individual truck movements – watch your truck live via GPS
be automatically alerted by email as certain events occur (such as 'arrived at client' or 'container de-hired') – no more phone calls
book & change all jobs online through our web-enabled booking system
customize our online booking system to provide information in a format you determine – see what's most important to you first
